AIPMT 2014: Important dates, exam centres for students
Students sitting for the All-India Pre-Medical Test (AIPMT) 2014 should be aware of important dates.
The dates for AIPMT have been announced by the Central Board of Secondary Education, New Delhi.

IIT-JEE 2014: Pre-assessment test module uploaded by a college for free!
The Agni College of Technology (ACT) in Tamil Nadu has uploaded the module online. The college has created a bank of 30,000 questions. Candidates will be given questions in mathematics, physics and chemistry.
 
 
City students excel at IIT-Delhi fest
The PCTE Group of Institutes won three prizes at Rendevous 2013, a cultural and literary extravaganza at IIT Delhi. 'CBSE Launches a ‘Foreign Cell’ to Assist its 60,000 Students across 25 Countries
To provide right academic and administrative support to its schools outside India, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has launched a Foreign Schools Cell (FSC) that is based in Delhi. The FSC will help the board to cater to the requirements of its increasing number of students at foreign schools. The FSC will look after the CBSE affiliated schools in 25 countries worldwide. 

 
NEET, AIPMT more similar than different
With NEET being scrapped, we are back to AIPMT. The two tests have a lot in common and very few differences, observes Aakash Chaudhry. The AIPMT syllabus will be the same as NEET Like NEET, AIPMT too will have a single paper as against the earlier two papers. There will be 180 objective type questions from physics, chemistry, botany and zoology (45 questions from each subject). 
 
 
AIIMS PG Admit Card 2013-2014 to be available from Oct 25
All India Institute of Medical Science (AIIMS) which is set to conduct the examination for PG applicants  on 10th November 2013-2014 will likely release the admit card from Friday, 25 October 2013. Candidates appearing for this examination.
 
 
CBSE starts verifying internal marks given by schools

MUMBAI|KOLKATA: Last month, when IIT Kanpur opened its overseas office in New York - the first of its kind across any IIT- fund-raising was one of the drivers behind the move. The other was faculty hiring. Nearly 60% of the institute's faculty comes from North America, and the NYC office will be involved in reaching out to such potential.
 
In a recent report commissioned by the new IITs, the newly setup institutes in Hyderabad and Ropar, in Punjab, have been ranked the best in quality of research among all other IITs across the country. According to data upto September 2013, IIT Mandi and IIT Jodhpur are among the worst performers with h-indices (which quantifies an individual’s or institution’s scientific research impact on the basis of the number of publications, and the number of citations.
 
GUWAHATI: In a bid to bring industry and academicians together to innovate products that would help make life easier, the mechanical engineering department of IIT-Guwahati (IIT-G) will organize a two-day national conference on its campus on Saturday and Sunday. According to organizers of the conference, titled 'Manufacturing: Vision for Future', the event has been organized to understand the needs of the hour from researchers working with some of the leading manufacturing units, and to assess the possibilities of innovation from academicians.
